Inspire by my Loaded Mini Bell Pepper Nachos, I spiced things up using jalapeno peppers filled with cream cheese and cheddar instead, before loading on all the toppings!

And with the Superbowl right around the corner, I’m excited to bring you another recipe that I created in partnership with Reynolds. If you’re having friends over to watch the big game, your friends will love this appetizer! And since I’m sure you’d rather be hanging out with them instead of hanging in the kitchen washing those extra pans, lining your sheet pan with foil is perfect for easy clean up!

I used Reynolds Wrap Non-Stick Foil which is made of Heavy-Duty Foil with a Non-Stick coating added on one side (the dull side), which offers a heavier gauge aluminum foil than traditional Reynolds Wrap. It’s made with a food-safe non-stick coating that makes it easy to line pans and wrap your dishes. No more added hassle of clean up or non-stick oils and sprays.

These are a little spicy, very flavorful and a little messy. So you might want to serve them with some forks and napkins! They are gluten-free, low-carb and keto-friendly, and will be a crowd-pleaser for sure!

To Prep Ahead:

Make the turkey mixture and the cream cheese mixture in step 2 and step 3 and refrigerate. Continue with step 4 when you are ready to cook.

Prep: 15 minutes
Cook: 30 minutes
Total: 45 minutes
Yield: 8 servings
Serving Size: 2 stuffed poppers

Ingredients

Toppings:

  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • chopped scallions and cilantro, for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream plus 2 teaspoons water, for drizzling
  • 1/2 cup pico de gallo
  • 2 tablespoons sliced black olives

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400F and line a large baking sheet with nonstick aluminum foil.
  • Heat a medium nonstick skillet over medium heat and spray with oil. Add onion, cilantro and garlic and saute about 2 minutes, until soft. Add ground turkey, salt, garlic powder, cumin and cook meat for 4 to 5 minutes until meat is completely cooked through breaking it up with a spoon. Add the tomato paste and water, mix well and simmer on medium for about 2 to 3 minutes, remove from heat.
  • Meanwhile, combine cream cheese, cheddar and scallions in a medium bowl. Using a small spoon or a spatula, spoon about 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese filling into the peppers.
  • Arrange in a single layer, cut-side up close together. Bake until soft, about 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Top with meat and cheese and bake until melted, about 3 minutes more.
  • Remove from oven and top with pico de gallo, olives and drizzle with sour cream. Garnish with cilantro and scallions and serve immediately.

  1. These are so good! What a nice treat, without the guilt. Made exactly as the recipe was written, no changes needed!

  2. My entire family LOVED this recipe! I did not have jalapeños on hand, so I substituted anaheim peppers. The result was delicious, mild and all around AWESOME!

  3. What a clever idea, combining poppers with nachos, especially since I usually adorn my nachos with jalapenos. Turned out amazing!

  4. I have been making jalapeño poppers with cream cheese and sausage for years and they are always everyone’s favorite . . . until now! These jalapeño popper “nachos” are the bomb!! So so delicious and easy to make!

  5. These were so delicious! I made them for our quarantine Cinco de Mayo celebration and they were a hit!!

This is the first time I ever made jalapeño poppers and I was so impressed with this recipe that I had to make it.  Not only was it so easy to make, it was absolutely delicious. Thank you

  7. Great! My husband said that I can make that anytime. I even used vegetarian “crumbles” and it was a hit. With that just have to add a bit more water or broth to the crumbles to get them going I found. But then added in the seasonings, tomato paste etc. Fun recipe, great for snack, or appetizer. Thank you

  8. Made these to eat while watching the Masters and doubled the recipe. A complete winner!

Great mixtures of flavors had everyone going back for seconds. They have some heat, but not overwhelming at all.

    Thanks for sharing!!

  9. This dish was so good! I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to nachos with chips. This is definitely something that one can show off at a potluck.

  10. I’ve made these several times and they are always a hit with my boyfriend! It’s an easy dinner to make, and good for leftovers too! Love the taste! Another 5 star!

      1. YES love that!! You could also use those vegetarian “meatless” crumbles if you were so inclined.

  11. Wow…what an explosion of flavor! I’m following a primarily keto/intermittent fasting diet and love it, but I do miss nachos. Not anymore…that first bite is a kick of flavor from the jalapeno and then it all smooths out into a creamy, smooth flavor bomb. I may like these better than the old nachos! Thanks for a great recipe!!

  12. Oh I love this!! It’s an easy recipe to make too. I’m off today so I have the time to give this a try, Thank you, great recipe!
