Chicken breasts can be a bit dry and unexciting. But if you want to kick them up a notch – just wrap them in bacon and air fryer them! Wrapping bacon around this lean cut of chicken results in extra flavor and juiciness. It couldn’t be any easier and is perfect served over salad. Bacon-Wrapped Air Fryer Chicken Breast

Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Breast is so easy to make. Just season the chicken with salt and pepper and wrap two slices of bacon around each piece. They cook in the air fryer for less than 15 minutes.

How long do you cook bacon-wrapped chicken breasts in the air fryer?

Cook the bacon-wrapped chicken in the air fryer at 380 degrees for about six minutes on each side. Once the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees, increase the temperature to 400 and cook for one minute to brown the bacon.

Does chicken breast need to rest after cooking?

Let the chicken rest for about five minutes before slicing. Resting the chicken keeps the juices from running out, keeping all the flavor inside.

What to Serve with Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Breasts

I love making a salad with this bacon-wrapped chicken. You could use mixed greens, spinach, or romaine, add your favorite toppings, like avocado, tomatoes, shallots, and cucumbers, and coat with a simple vinaigrette.

You could also serve it as a main with pretty much any side. Here are some ideas: Avocado Quinoa Salad, Roasted Green Beans with Caramelized Onions, Grilled Zucchini, or Lemon-Parsley Potatoes.

No Air Fryer? No Problem

To make this in the oven, preheat the oven to 400F.

Heat a large oven safe or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Sear bacon wrapped chicken breasts on both sides for about 2 minutes per side, or until the bacon is crisp, drain excess fat.

Transfer the chicken to the oven and bake about 12 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken has reached 160F. Remove from the oven and transfer to a cutting board, let rest covered with foil for 5 minutes before slicing.

  1. I used turkey bacon for those wondering about that–and it tastes great with this but probably doesn’t lend as much moisture to the chicken. I also had one very large breast over 12 ounces and I cut it down the middle, so I ended up with two rather thick pieces. My air fryer goes by 25 degrees so I started out with 375 but then just decided to go up to 400 after I flipped them. So I think I need a bit of practice with my new airfryer! Husband thought these were great, and I wanted them to be a bit moister–I may have done them too long since piece of chicken so thick. I want to experiment a bit more next time I do it with maybe a marinade first, Type of bacon may make a difference too. I like the easy to do few ingredients though.

  2. Yum!  Very simple to make but very tasty and both of my picky kids like it.  It does take TWICE as long as the directions say – I don’t know if my chicken breasts are thicker than what the recipe was tested with but I’ve made it twice and both times had to double the cooking time.  Love this simple recipe though!

  3. Looking for a little variety in ways to prepare chicken, and I saw this recipe. We loved it! I was so surprised how much more moist the chicken was when done in the air fryer. Also, the bacon added such good flavor to the moist chicken. So glad I discovered this easy and delicious recipe on your website. Thank you

Made this in the skillet / oven last night and it was fantastic and looked so pretty. My husband raved over it.

    Hello,

I have an air fryer setting on my oven. Would the air fryer cooking directions be the same for that?

  6. There is a little blue 6 right under the recipe title. When I checked my personal points on WW it was a 6. Will the recipes have my personal points already figured out or was that a coincidence?

  7. Flavor was great. Unfortunately, I used thin cut chicken breasts and did not reduce the cooking time so they were dry. Next time I will adjust.

  8. Loved this! Made it last night and served with a “loaded: green salad—bumped up with lots of veggies. The best chicken I’ve tried in the air fryer—full of flavor and the bacon feels like a luxury, even though for me it was still low points for a dinner. Thanks Gina—super fast, super easy, super tasty!

  9. This was the best chicken we have had in a long time! My husband loved it! Said it was better than any restaurant chicken breast. Made it exactly as the recipe said and will put on repeat!

Can you use chicken tenders in place of the breast? If so how long do you cook it and what temperature?

Hi Gina! I credit you and your recipes for keeping me on a healthy eating track for years. I am so grateful for all you do! I recently bought an air fryer, and so far I’ve been disappointed with how chicken has turned out in it. I always use a meat thermometer, but it has come out a little bit tough. Is it harder to get an accurate temperature read when using an air fryer? I’m thinking of trying this easy and wonderful recipe, but I’m wondering if I should brine it first? Please let me know if you have any suggestions, I appreciate it so much!

    1. No need to brine here, but I always suggest using organic chicken. It makes all the difference when making breasts.

What brand of bacon do you use? It looks great, and a lot leaner than the bacon I can get here in my tiny little town.

  13. Yum! A great meal to make when you don’t want to make a meal! Quick to make and clean up. This recipe delivers on the taste and presentation. Used Chef Merito Seasoning Powder rather than salt and pepper.
